Copenhagen Architecture Festival 4.-14.4 Copenhagen Architecture Festival (CAFx) aims to rethink the representation of architecture, highlighting its qualities and diversity and creating discussion. Every year, the festival centers around specific theme, and this year it is Changing Ideals. The iedea for this theme comes from the 100-year jubilee of the Bauhaus Movement and The Danish Social Housing Sector. Aziz Ansari DR Koncerthuset 8.-9.4 The award-winning comedian and actor Aziz Ansari, known from TV shows as "Master of None" and "Parks and Recreation", is back with his new stand-up show "Road to Nowhere". The audience will be treated to world class public comedy, when Aziz Ansari brings his show to Copenhagen and DR Koncerthuset, 8 and 9 April. Michelle Obama Royal Arena 9.4 The event, in promotion of Mrs Obama's best-selling memoir Becoming, will see the author talk candidly on-stage about her experiences as the first African-American to serve as First Lady of the United States and how she helped create a welcoming and inclusive White House. An advocate for women's rights around the globe and one of the most compelling female figures in history, Mrs Obama will also reflect on her journey from her childhood living in the Southside of Chicago, to becoming such a powerful figure, all whilst balancing the demands of being a mother and working full-time. Moderator: Rachel Ray Handboll, EM-kval Royal Arena 13.4 The gold dust has hardly settled until it is time again for the Copenhageners to see the glimpse of the reigning Danish world champions again. It happens when the Danish men's handball team returns to the Royal Arena. Together with the Faroese Handball Federation, the Danish Handball Federation organizes a double European Championship event on Saturday 13 April. The Faroe Islands first meet Ukraine at 17.45 and then Denmark receives Montenegro at 20:15. Dejlig er Norden DR Koncerthuset 15.4 We love to tease each other. We are arch-enemies when we meet in sports contexts. We have also been at war with each other several times. But we also have a lot in common. The Nordic countries share culture, history, values, language and humour in a unique friendship that stretches back for thousands of years. We celebrate this friendship on 15 April with a big gala show in the concert hall in the DR concert hall. The Gala show is held in connection with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the association NORDEN, which was founded as a peace movement after the First World War and later played an active political role in connection with the establishment of the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers. The exhibition is based on the societies and similarities that the Nordic countries have built up over time, but as in all sibling relationships, there is also room for love to tease. From Moomin to Mø - Nordic artists has aroused resonance all over the world. But what are the common characteristics of Nordic culture really? During the show, we take a journey through Nordic music, literature, TV and cooking in search of what binds us together as people and cultures. Several Nordic musicians who meet over genres and borders will join us on stage - from pop and jazz to hip hop, classic and choir singing. On the stage you will also find comedians, dancers and actors from the five Nordic countries. Join us on a warm and entertaining evening when the Nordic community is celebrated with a magnificent gala in the concert hall. HM Queen Margrethe's Birthday Amalienborg 16.4 On 16 April, HM Queen Margrethe II's birthday takes place. Every year, the birthday is marked by the Queen and her family at Amalienborg Palace, where they step out on the balconies to greet the Danes at noon. The square in front of the palace is usually filled with Danes and visitors, who wish the Queen happy birthday. The guard will be wearing their red gala uniforms for the change of the guard.
