FANTOMTEATER
- not only in spirit...

Every Sunday in September: 11.9, 18.9, 25.9 | Det Kgl Teater - Skuespilshuset

In September 2022, 300 years of Danish theater will be celebrated. On this occasion, Dramafronten presents PHANTOM THEATER in collaboration with the Royal Theatre.

PHANTOM THEATER is the first performance of five fresh pieces of new Danish short drama, which are shown in places in inner Copenhagen where a theater once stood, but no longer does.

Each of the five playwrights interprets the common theme THEATER, but in their own completely individual way. The wish is to show a beautiful, kaleidoscopic picture with different approaches to and meanings of the theatre, - now, in the past and in the future.

The audience is guided from place to place to the five different plays, each lasting 10-15 minutes, which are shown in selected places where the spirit of the time when there was a theater may still be present...

By performing the plays in these special places, new life is breathed into the once lively places. And at the same time as the audience gets a historical glimpse and insight, the performance at these very addresses is a reminder of the fragility of the theater as an art form.

Meeting place: The foyer in the Skuespilhuset at 3 pm.

Guides: Guides knowledgeable in theater history accompany the audience on the route

NOTE: Come at 2.30pm and get an introduction to the day and the 5 "phantom theatres" by theater historian Alette Scavenius. Introduction takes place in the foyer of the Skuespilhuset.

Go_A

d. 15. september | Lille Vega

The Ukrainian electro-folk band Go_A eminently combines soulful lyrics with crisp electronic beats and powerful guitar riffs.

With the hit "SHUM" Go_A had a massive breakthrough in Eurovision Song Contest 2021, placing on 5th place in the Grande Finale. "SHUM" became a great favourite for Eurovision-fans worldwide, and the track has since been found on charts such as Billboard Top200 and Spotify Viral Worldwide.

The band's name consists of "Go" as "movement" and "A" as the ancient Greek letter "alpha", symbolizing cultural roots and the beginning of everything.

And their music centers on just that: the beginning, retelling traditional Ukrainian stories passed down through generations.

The group's singer Kateryna even uses the ancient Eastern European folklore vocal technique, which is based on an open throat and free volume.

Bob Dylan

d. 30. september | Royal Arena

Dylan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, and he would have landed there based on his work in the 1960s alone, when he wrote and recorded some of the most enduring and groundbreaking material in musical history. Though his '60s songbook includes classics like "Blowin' in the Wind," "Subterranean Homesick Blues," "Like a Rolling Stone," and "I Want You," he hasn't stopped writing and recording critically acclaimed material and is constantly mining his archives to release previously unreleased material.

After 74 amazing shows in the US, 'The Rough and Rowdy Ways World Tour' heads to Europe and the UK, and the tour hits the Royal Arena on September 30th this year!

IMPORTANT: This concert is a "PHONE FREE SHOW", this means that phones are not allowed in the hall during the concert.
